Heavy Quark Effective Theory, Interpolating Fields and Bethe-Salpeter Amplitudes1

چکیده
We use the LSZ reduction theorem and interpolating fields, alongwith the heavy quark effective theory, to investigate the structure of the BetheSalpeter amplitude for heavy hadrons. We show how a simple form of this amplitude, used extensively in heavy hadron decay calculations, follows naturally upto O(1/M) from these field theoretic considerations. A Non-perturbative Treatment of Heavy Quarks and Mesons
A formalism for studying heavy quarks in terms of model Dyson-Schwinger equations is developed. The formalism is the natural extension of a technique which has proved successful in a number of studies of light hadron physics. The dressed heavy quark propagator, calculated to leading order in the inverse quark mass, is incorporated in a treatment of D and B mesons via the ladder approximation Be...
متن کاملQuark-antiquark Bethe-salpeter Formalism, Spectrum and Regge Trajectories
Starting from a path integral representation of appropriate 4-point and 2-point gauge invariant Green functions and from the ”Modified Area Law” model , a qq̄ Bethe-Salpeter like equation and a related Schwinger-Dyson equation can be obtained. From such equations an effective relativistic Hamiltonian can be derived by standard methods and then applied to the determination of the meson spectrum ....
متن کاملPossible retardation effects of quark confinement on the meson spectrum.
The reduced Bethe-Salpeter equation with scalar confinement and vector gluon exchange is applied to quark-antiquark bound states. The so called intrinsic flaw of Salpeter equation with static scalar confinement is investigated. The notorious problem of narrow level spacings is found to be remedied by taking into consideration the retardation effect of scalar confinement. Good fit for the mass s...
متن کاملThe Relativistic and Non Relativistic Quark-antiquark Bound State Problem in a Wilson Loop Context
The paper is on the line of the path integral technique developped in preceding articles. Taking advantage of a semirelativistic and a full relativistic representation of the quark propagator in an external field we present an unified derivation of the semirelativistic potential and of a Bethe–Salpeter like equation for the quark– antiquark system. We consider three different models for the eva...
متن کاملHeavy Quark Distribution Functions in Heavy Baryons
Using the Bethe-Salpeter (B-S) equations for heavy baryons ΛQ, ΣQ, ΞQ and ΩQ (Q = b or c), which were established in previous work, we calculate the heavy quark distribution functions in these baryons. The numerical results indicate that these distribution functions have an obvious peak at some fraction, α0, of the baryon’s light-cone “plus” momentum component carried by the heavy quark, and th...
